Versailles Kentucky Planning Commission Hearing for Midway StationThe Versailles Kentucky newspaper, The Woodford Sun had an article today announcing the Versailles Kentucky Planning Commission hearing for Midway Station that has been set for Thursday evening on November 15 2007 at 6:30 pm at the Anne Hart Raymond Center’s Duthie Auditorium which is located on the campus of Midway College.

The Midway Station development is located at the North East quadrant of interstate I64 and Kentucky Highway 341 (commonly referred to as Georgetown Road).

The Midway Station development is proposed to be a multi-use real estate development.  The applicant is Dennis Anderson, and he is attempting to rezone approximately 146 acres to highway business use (B5), medium density residential (R3), single family residential (R1C), professional office (P1).  It is currently zoned as light industrial (I1).

[There is also an additional 3.376 acres that he is requesting a zoning change from highway business (B5) to professional office (P1).]

On the current development as it is currently proposed, it shows 253 residential units that are attached, 256 residential units that are single family and detached, 149 residential units as part of commercial uses, and 57 residential units tied to the office uses.

As currently proposed, the development is scheduled to be implemented over the next 10 years.

This development has proposed a more traditional town center, with commercial as well as professional buildings close by and a recreational area for the residents.  This concepts sounds on the surface very similar to the current on going real estate development project going on at Norton Commons in Louisville Kentucky.  That development shares a lot of the old town feel that this development seems to share at least some inspiration from - and it has been doing quite well.
