Georgetown KY is located northwest of Lexington and is the county seat for Scott County. Its population for the 2000 census was 18,080 (according to Wikipedia). This continues to be a thriving and growing community. Estimates for July 2006 place the population at 27,500.

This community really grew quite quickly when Toyota opened the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky plant in 1988. The plant currently builds the Camry, Solara & Avalon vehicles.

Georgetown is also home to Georgetown College (a primarily liberal arts school).
